After leaving Lake McConaughy, we found our way to Red Willow SRA near McCook. We arrived just in time for lunch and had a quick picnic. Zellie thought this was awesome.

The park consists of lots of camp grounds, picnic areas, a shooting range, and fishing spots. This park is rather large, so be sure to know where you are going. Bernadette wanted a picture "by the island".![]()

Finally, after asking a couple people for directions, we realized that the park went on both sides of the dam... who knew? So after spending nearly 3 hours looking for our post, we found it and the girls got the rubbing.![]()

It is a pretty lake and the fishing here is supposed to be excellent. Unfortunately, all of our fishing time was eaten up trying to locate our park post.![]()

After searching for the post for quite some time, we sat down to have a rest. Only then did Papa notice this snake wrapped around a grill 10 feet from where we were sitting. While weren't sure what kind it was, it never rattled at us, so we're hoping it wasn't dangerous, but we didn't take chances just in case.
