The main event in October 2011 was Bernadette's 5th birthday. As usual, we had a party with her cousins who also have fall birthdays.
In keeping with my Making Money by Saving Money venture, I made gifts for my two nephews and niece.
For my nephews, I made capes. Here's Bernadette and Clare modeling my nephews' monogrammed capes.
My niece turned 4. First, I made her a big flower hair clip.
Next, my husband and I made her a paper doll starter set that looked like a bedroom out of poster board and scrapbook paper.
On Bernadette's actual birthday, we started off with a treasure hunt that ended with breakfast in bed and a surprise - Jeremy took the day off of work!
The treasure box was full of Dollar Tree gifts picked out by her sisters.
For the treasure hunt, Bernadette got to wear a pirate hat and eye patch.
The birthday girl got to pick out what we did that day and so we all enjoyed a day at the Children's Museum.
